Full bio
Born Akoul Ajom on August 16, 1999 in Eritrea, Lady Kola is a South Sudanese Afrobeat and Dancehall artist based in Juba. A singer, model, DJ and peace campaigner, she launched her music career in 2018 with the breakout single “Mata Futu” and quickly became one of East Africa’s most distinctive emerging voices.
Her sound fuses infectious Afrobeat rhythms with the bounce of Dancehall, delivered through bold, high-energy performances. Across releases like “Dugu Kas,” “Tonight” (with Uganda’s John Blaq), “Muhaba” (with Cindy), “Eri Stana” (with Weasel) and the 2024 single “Good Energy” (with Kenya’s Arrow Bwoy), she has expanded her reach across South Sudan, Uganda, Kenya and beyond.
Her work has been recognised with Best Female Artist of the Year at the South Sudan Talent Youth Awards (2019/2020), a Fans Favourite Artist title, and ten career award nominations. Beyond the music, she uses her platform as a peace campaigner, advocating for unity across the region.
